Jim Ryan, I am super excited to be partnering with Silicon Prairie News this year and podcasting live from Infotec 2016. Can you give us some details on the Conference this year?
Ryan: Infotec will be Monday, March 21st in Omaha Nebraska. Every year Infotec brings together over a thousand IT professionals from across the region for a day of special speakers, breakout sessions, and a host of exhibitors. The event brings together people from corporate IT teams to startups, and it’s really just a time to geek out a bit and try to collaborate on common enterprise IT problems.
Jim: for the last couple years I have always been broadcasting live interviews, what has been your favorite part?
Ryan response and Call to Action: Last year my favorite part was probably the Try-It Zone. It was the first time I had the chance to try out an Oculus Rift and it was pretty amazing. I know they are doing another Try-It Zone this year, and I can’t wait to see what they have there this time.
If you’d like to know more about Infotec visit http://infotec.org.
Jim: So this year, Infotec is actually the first day of Omaha Startup Week, which is a whole new event this year. Tell us more about it.
Ryan: Yes, this will be the very first Omaha Startup Week, which will run March 21-26. The week will include over 1,000 attendees from across the region, coming together to talk about tech entrepreneurship. There will be special mentor office hours, national speakers, local panel discussions, and even a cash prize pitch competition sponsored by COX Business.
Jim: Is SPN doing anything special for the event?
Ryan: Yes, on Tuesday we are doing a special lunch event called Bigger Than Me, which will celebrate startup community builders from across our four state region who have given back to the community year after year.

Jim: Another big event that SPN is involved with is Big Omaha. Is that coming back again this year?
Ryan: Big Omaha is back for another year,May 4-6, and we are really excited to be promoting it again. Big Omaha is the premiere entrepreneur event in the region, including some of the most inspiring speakers, best food, and best networking opportunities of the whole year.
Jim: How do I purchase tickets this year?
Ryan: Right now Big Omaha is running their early bird tickets, which are $100 off general admission. I would highly recommend getting them as soon as possible to save some money. To get a ticket, just visit http://bigomaha.co.
