Kyle Wilcox (@kylejwx) and Nathaniel Lindley (@thanlindley) join Jim (https://twitter.com/jcollison) for show #183 of Home Gadget Geeks brought to you by the Average Guy Network, part of http://thegeeksnetwork.com/ community.
Kyle updates us on his new move, new job and breaks the news that his school is still running Novell ZENworks. Nathaniel updates us on his job and averting a near disaster when some Windows 2000 Server went down at the school. We had a discussion around Nathaniel using MediaFire as well as his use of Jolicloud. We also looked at Otixo and Multcloud.

Mediafire… I also bought the 1 year 1T for $25 after listening to Mr. Collison. Some early comments:
1. Other than using the “sync” application there would appear to be no way to upload nested folders. It looks like you must create folders one at a time in MF, then upload the folder content. Evidently MF Express did that but “The MediaFire Express tool has been deprecated” and replaced with MF Desktop. MF Desktop provides a special folder sync capability but not (that I have been able to find) folder upload capability.
2. The word “encryption” does not show up in their Knowledgebase. I have a query in to their help desk to clarify this, but it appears that there is no encryption going on. Ouch.
3. The iOS client works pretty much as expected so far, but when I tried to play an MP3 on the Android client it only gave me the options to download it or cancel. No streaming? When you go in through Chrome and tap on a file you get the expected “interaction” but when you tap “listen” it looks like it still wants to download it completely before playing it.
4. Apparently you can drag and drop only 300 files at once. I hit this when trying to upload 1000+ photos in a vacation picture folder. Had to take multiple runs at it all.
