The guys spent the first 15 minutes talking about where to purchase cables. Amazon and Monoprice were the two most popular. Mike like Apple Certified cable when he buys them.
To protect your systems you need anti-virus and anti-malware. I use Intel Security(McAfee) LiveSafe and Malwarebytes Pro.
Best research sites:
As with any free software, you need to understand how it is different than the pay version. Don’t assume anything.
Good ratings:

Best free AV for Mac’s:
http://www.sophos.com/en-us/products/free-tools/sophos-antivirus-for-mac-home-edition.aspx
Check with your ISP to see if they offer a free AV. Many universities do as well.
I also believe a real firewall or UTM helps defeat virus and malware.
Sophos UTM:
http://www.sophos.com/en-us/products/free-tools/sophos-utm-home-edition.aspx
plus you get Sophos AV when you use a Sophos UTM, I think,,,,,
My picks for free AV, in alphabetical order:
- Avast:
- AVG:
- Avira:
- Bitdefender:
- Panda:
- Sophos for Mac:
add on MalwareBytes:
(this could be an add on to this show or potentially a second show on other free tools)
- Free Glary Utilities to fix everything else:
- Free Paragon Backup and Recovery:
- Free Belarc Advisor to audit your PC:
- Free TeamViewer for remote access:
And you are covered!
