Speed Tips for Windows 7 Part 1:

Shave down your boot time:

Winkey + R –> msconfig –Boot Tab–>

1. Change Timeout to 3 Seconds.
2. Click advanced Options. Check number of proccessors, select maximum in dropbox. Apply and OK.

Remove old devices from device manager:

1.  Winkey + R –> cmd

2. enter the following line:

set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1

3. Open Device Manager, View –> Show hidden devices. Then right click and install all removed/hidden device instances.
