SSD prices continue to fall while hard drive prices continue to rise. Newegg yesterday and today advertised 2 SSD deals at $109.99 for SATA III 120GB SSD’s
Seagate 3TB xt 7200 rpm drives are all but extinct. The model that that we bought at $149 before the Thai flood that was recently selling for $429 is no longer listed. Let’s hope that this means the new 3.5 hybrid drives are arriving soon.

The new Seagate Barracuda ST3000DM001 3TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5″ Internal Hard Drive – Bare Drive is available for $230. Not as fast as the XT and certainly will be no match for the new hybrids when they are available, but for now is probably the best value if you need a big drive.
